The dog park is the place where both pets and owners get to interact with other people and animals who think and act like they do. Dog parks are a place where our pets can socialize and exercise, and where we can interact with other dog owners who appreciate the everyday aspects of owning dogs that other people don’t. The Beneful Dream Dog Park Project is all about making that experience a reality for more owners and their dogs.
The Benefits of Dog Parks
We love our dogs, and they always know we’re available for a game of fetch or tug of war. Sometimes, though, dogs need to be with other dogs. Just like parents need to interact with other parents while kids play at the park. Owners need to interact with each other while their dogs hang out. We all need to know that we’re understood by our peers. That same need goes for our dogs as well!
Exercise
Dog parks are an excellent place for exercise. I don’t know about you, but when my dog comes into contact with another pooch, the running only stops when cannot physically go on. With so may wagging tails and balls and toys flying around, it’s impossible for our dogs NOT to get in a good workout.
Mental Stimulation
All the playing at the park gets your dog’s mind working. The time you spend with your dog owner peers also gets your mind working too. It’s fun to stand around and talk about new and interesting things outside of your own life while your dog romps with other four legged buddies.
A Closer Bond
Trips to the dog park can also foster a closer bond between you and your pooch. Suddenly, going on a trip become something that your dog is absolutely nuts over, and it’s YOUR thing. It’s the thing that you and your dog do together. That’s an amazing feeling.
Beneful’s Goal – A Dog Park for Every Dog
Beneful recognizes the importance of dog parks to both dogs and their owners, and they see the need for more parks across America. There are so many owners out there who’d love to take advantage of a dog park if it were in their area.
That’s what the Beneful Dream Dog Park Project is all about. For the past five years, they’ve been helping build and/or improve dog parks across the country, working to make the joys of dog parks a reality for more dogs and their owners. This year, Beneful Dream Dog Park Project want to support a total 0f 12 parks through donations, service days, and other services of the like.
To help make this goal of a dog park for every dog a reality, Beneful has partnered with GoFundMe to help give dog park organizers a platform to create campaigns for their local dog parks, raise awareness and funds for improvement, and/or to help increase funding to help get a new park off the ground.
