Nextbook 8" Windows Tablet

I have to admit that I am a big laptop user and I haven’t used tablets that much. I was actually given an expensive tablet several months ago and I ended up just giving it to my daughter. But lately, I have been wanting to read more and I was considering getting an inexpensive tablet just for reading ebooks. As luck would have it, I excitedly received an opportunity to review a Nextbook Windows Tablet.

I love Windows products and I actually own a Windows phone. So the 8” Nextbook Windows tablet was a perfect fit for me. It has the Windows 8.1 Operating System with a Quad-Core Intel Atom Processor. The internal storage is 16GB, which can be expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. The Nextbook features a beautiful 10.1” 1280 x 800 screen with capacitive multi-touch. It also has a front webcam and 2 megapixel back camera with microphone. Besides having all the great features including wifi and bluetooth, it is also a great value at only $99. On top of that, it even comes with a free one year subscription for Office 365 Personal that includes 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage and 60 Skype world minutes per month.

One feature I really like about the Nextbook Windows Tablet is the start screen with tiles. I can customize the tiles with the items I use most often. The Windows store is always near the top of my start screen since I am frequently checking to see what they have. The store features all the great apps that everyone loves. So far, I have installed all the major apps like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Kindle. Right now, I have been using the tablet mostly for social media. But I have also been checking my email and surfing the web. I am glad to have the Nextbook Windows Tablet and it will be very useful when traveling.

  13. Right now my daughter and I are sharing a Nook.So I’d keep this for me if I won and she could have the Nook. Besides, I find the Nook very stressful.:)

  32. I would actually do some books on it, first of all. I find there are free e-books AND our library now has e-books, too! Cool. I would let the kids use it to play some of their games when they are here, for quiet time. I would LOVE it if you could do gps with it.. I have no clue if tablets can do that?? LOL I do not even have a cell phone right now.. I’m clueless.

    • Amazon has tons of free eBooks. I have several hundred of them downloaded via Kindle lol. Unfortunately, I don’t think most tablets have GPS or at least I haven’t seen one yet. 🙂

  38. I would give it to my hubby for his regular internet browsing. When my laptop crashed, I took over his. He really wants a tablet.

  43. Oh my goodness! My kids are all grown, so I’ve been trying to get back into reading. But! You have to have some kind of tablet now a days! I don’t own one at all. I also need this because I check my facebook, instagram…you name it. I have to use my phone, and it is so small and hard to read! One more thing! My granddaughter loves playing on my phone, so this would be even better for her!

  67. I am disabled so being able to have a tablet to do all my emailing, paying bills and learning more about my illnesses would be so helpful to me. It is so hard laying in bed with not much to do but watch tv because the laptop is so big and bulky it is hard for me to operate.

  227. My old Android tablet is very very slow. I use it for reading my Kindle ebooks and checking email. I have Meniere’s Disease and I cannot do much of anything, other than lie in bed and read. Since reading is mostly all I can do, it would be awesome to have a tablet that would turn the pages quicker.
    Being on disability does not allow for any purchases, other than my medicines and food. So a nice, new tablet would be a dream come true!
