Recycle Your Breast Pump With Medela Recycles

breast pump is an indispensable tool for any breastfeeding mom. The thing is, no mom knows what to do with it after their kids have weaned. Normally, their breast pump is either given away or thrown out. Medela is changing that with Medela Recycles. It’s a program that allows a mom to recycle her breast pump.

Help Others by Recycling Your Breast Pump

Medela has launched an important recycling campaign called Medela Recycles. The company created the program in response to a petition launched on change.org by an eco-conscious mother who wanted a way to properly dispose of old breast pumps and keep them out of landfills. Medela recognized the importance of this idea, and Medela Recycles was born.

Medela took this idea one step further when they developed their recycling program. Medela Recycles is more than a way for a mom to recycle her old breast pump. It’s also a way for moms to help other moms in addition to helping the environment.

That’s because when a mom recycles her breast pump through Medela recycles, she’s helping Medela provide a donation of two Symphony Preemie+ breast pumps every month to a Ronald McDonald House. With these breast pumps, mothers with babies in the NICU have the equipment they need to continue to provide breast milk for their babies. It’s a way for mothers ending their breastfeeding journey to help mothers who are just beginning that journey.

Medela Makes it Easy to Recycle Your Breast Pump

Medela is committed to making it easy for moms to recycle their breast pumps. They want to encourage that a breast pump be recycled rather than make its way to a landfill. In fact, to date, almost 8,000 breast pumps have been recycled, and Medela is striving to meet a goal of 12,000 recycled pumps this year. They even have a breast pump recycle page that allows moms to print a pre-paid postage label to ship their old Medela breast pump for recycling.

Recycling Your Breast Pump Helps Other Moms

Medela makes it so easy to recycle your breast pump, there’s no reason not to do it. You’ll be keeping your breast pump out of the landfill. You’ll be helping another mom get a much needed breast pump. Heck, Medela even pays for you to ship it to them. If you’re a mother at the end of breastfeeding journey, I encourage you to recycle your breast pump with Medela. It helps the environment and it helps other moms.
