Bacon is not just for breakfast! Bacon in desserts is just as enjoyable. TWIX Bacon Cookies will be loved by anyone who is a bacon fan.
In honor of Father’s Day, I teamed up with #CollectiveBias and TWIX #EatMoreBites to make a man-friendly recipe. I first thought about making popcorn, rice crispy treats, milkshakes and other boring normal things. But when I think Father’s Day, I think “manly” food and what is more manly than bacon. I wanted to use bacon in a dessert with the TWIX Bites. I ended up choosing to make TWIX Bacon Cookies.
I told my husband my plan and he was not thrilled over the idea of bacon cookies. But just because its “normal” to eat bacon for breakfast, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it other ways. We decided to head to Walmart and pick up TWIX Bites to use in the cookies. We found TWIX Bites in the candy aisle in the grocery section.
As soon as we got home, we ripped open a bag of TWIX Bites. We had never tried the bites before so we were excited to try them. They are unwrapped, bite-sized TWIX. TWIX Bites taste great and are nice size for snacking.
Then it was time to start making my TWIX Bacon Cookies. My husband was nice enough to cook the bacon for me and pat it dry. Then I chopped the TWIX Bites into quarters. The pieces will also break apart some more when added into the cookie mixture.
I creamed together my butter and sugars. Then beat in an egg and the vanilla extract. I added the flour mixture into the batter. Then mixed in the TWIX Bites and bacon pieces.
I used a cookie dropper to spoon out and drop my cookies onto my parchment lined cookie sheet. Then I put them in the oven to bake.
I allowed the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet. My husband asked right away if he could eat one which took me by surprise since he was hesitant when I first told him the idea earlier. But I guess from him smelling and seeing them he changed his mind. We both grabbed a cookie to try and loved them. The TWIX Bacon Cookies are a delicious combination of TWIX yumminess with hint of bacon flavor. My husband ate a couple cookies right away. I am actually planning on making them for my cousin’s birthday party. Of course, I’m not going to tell anyone they have bacon in them until they try them. People would assume they would be odd like my husband thought but he was definitely proven wrong. TWIX Bacon Cookies will be loved by any bacon fan.

OK, I had to see what someone would do with bacon and a candy bar. They sound like something I would have to try but I have to agree that I wouldn’t tell anyone they had bacon in them either until after they tried them. Now that you have gotten my curiosity aroused I am going to have to make them. Thanks (I think) for sharing them on Munching Mondays.

LOL, You won’t be disappointed. I gave some to my father-in-law and my mother without telling them this weekend. They both really liked it and ate more.

How fun! My dad used to think bacon desserts were pretty strange too until I talked him into joining me for last year’s Bacon Bowl festival in Fayetteville, AR. After sampling everything that day, he decided there really isn’t anything you can’t do with bacon. 🙂 I’ll be forwarding him this recipe!
