Gender Reveal Cupcakes are a fun and delicious way to announce the sex of your baby. The vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting are decorated with pink & blue sprinkles. The inside of the cupcakes are filled with either pink or blue frosting to reveal if it’s a boy or girl.

Instead of just telling them, you can announce the sex of your baby in a delicious way with Gender Reveal Cupcakes. The vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting are decorated with pink and blue sprinkles. When your family and friends bite into one of the Gender Reveal Cupcakes, the inside will be either filled with pink or blue frosting to reveal the sex of your baby.

Ingredients
Vanilla Cupcakes
  • 2½ cup flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Gender Reveal Frosting Filling
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1½ cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbs. milk
  • Blue or pink icing coloring
Buttercream Frosting
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 Tbs. milk
Decoration
  • Pink and blue sprinkles
Instructions
Vanilla Cupcakes
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line two muffin pans with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add in one egg at a time, beating after each addition and then mix in the vanilla. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk.
  4. Scoop the batter into each baking cup until ¾ full.
  5. Bake for 18 minutes, or until done. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and remove from the pan onto a wired rack.
Gender Reveal Filling Frosting
  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter.
  2. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar alternately with the milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Add in pink or blue coloring and beat until fluffy.
  4. Core each cooled cupcake and fill with colored frosting.
Buttercream Frosting
  1. In a large bowl, cream the butter.
  2. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar alternately with the milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Beat until fluffy.
  4. Pipe or spread frosting onto each cupcake.
Decoration
  1. Place sprinkles on top of each frosted cupcake.
