No Bake Granola Bars are great anytime as breakfast, a better-for-you snack, or a treat on the go. They take 5 minutes to make and only 5 ingredients.
My family goes through granola bars like crazy. I used to buy several boxes at a time, but now I like to make them myself. They are actually super easy and quick to make. It also saves you a bunch of money if your family eats a lot of them like mine. No Bake Granola Bars are great for breakfast or as a snack to eat on the go.
I was recently in Walmart and saw the DOVE® Fruit display at the front of the store. I was definitely intrigued when I saw it was dark chocolate covered whole fruit. One of my first thoughts were that these would be great to add to my No Bake Granola Bar recipe. I ended up grabbing all three kinds to try: cranberries, blueberries and cherries.
Besides just using DOVE® Fruit in my granola bars, I also thought it would be a nice “better for me” indulgence. Instead of eating a dessert, I could just grab several DOVE® Fruit pieces to eat. I would get some of the wellness benefits of dark chocolate with whole fruits.
You can head over to the DOVE® Fruit social hub to find more great DOVE® Fruit recipe ideas. If you are interested in trying DOVE® Fruit, you can download a coupon to save on your next DOVE® purchase.
I decided to try the DOVE® Fruit Whole Cherries first in my No Bake Granola Bars. I chopped the whole cherries into smaller pieces. Then in a large bowl, my toddler and I mixed together all five of the granola bar ingredients. Once thoroughly mixed, we pressed the mixture into a 9×11 dish and placed it in the fridge. After an hour or so, they are ready to be cut into bars. I usually keep mine in the refrigerator since I like them cold and a little harder. But you don’t have to keep them refrigerated. That’s all you have to do!. How can you beat only five ingredients and just five minutes of your time. The No Bake Granola Bars are great to eat anytime and are a delicious better for you snacking option.
- 2½ cups old fashioned oats
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup ground flax seed
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup DOVE® Fruit Whole Cherries, chopped
- In a large bowl, thoroughly stir together the oats, peanut butter, flax seed, honey and DOVE® Fruit.
- Press mixture into a 9x11 dish.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour before cutting into 12 bars.
