Spring weather is finally here! It is warm and sunny outside. The birds are singing and flowers are blooming. To celebrate springtime, I decided to make Bird Nest Dirt Cake Cups. If you don’t know what dirt cake is, it is a pudding dessert layered with crushed cookies. I used chocolate pudding and crushed Oreos for the layers with mini candy eggs placed throughout. Then I decorated the top to look like a bird nest. I used crushed Oreos to form a nest. I decorated the nest with chocolate sprinkles and placed mini candy eggs inside. I also used green sprinkles around the nest as decoration. To complete the bird nest look, you can top each dirt cup with a marshmallow peep. My daughter loves rice krispie treats like all children do. She had been asking me to make some, but I wanted something different than the classic treats. Since I had a bag of fun size Butterfingers laying around, I decided to make Butterfinger Rice Krispie Treats. They are just like classic rice krispie treats, but they have chopped up Butterfingers mixed throughout. You melt the butter on the stove like normal and stir in the marshmallows until melted. Cook for a couple more minutes and remove the pan from the heat. The mix in the cereal and chopped Butterfingers until combined and well coated. Pour the cereal mixture into a greased pan and allow to cool. Once cool, cut the treats into squares and it’s ready to eat. Spring is here and Easter is just around the corner. To celebrate both, I decided to turn Carrot Patch Dirt Cake Cups into Carrot Patch Brownie Bowls. I used my bake-a-bowl pan to make the chocolate brownie bowls. After cooled, I filled each bowl with chocolate pudding and sprinkled crushed Oreos crumbs on top for the “dirt”. I used orange M&M’s pressed into the “dirt” with a dab of green icing on top for the carrots. Then I used a marshmallow bunny for decoration. Spring is officially here! The warmer weather is just around the corner. My family has been celebrating by making fun treats. When I think of Spring, I think of Easter, flowers and gardening. I wanted to make a dessert that reminded me of Spring and I knew my Dirt Cake Cups would be perfect. I decided to make Carrot Patch Dirt Cups. If you don’t know what dirt cake is, it is a pudding dessert layered with crushed cookies. I used chocolate pudding and crushed Oreos to represent the dirt of a garden. For the carrots, I used orange M&M’s throughout the dessert cup. Then the M&M’s that were exposed on top, I decorated with a little green icing for the carrot tops. Pot of Gold Brownie Bowls are the perfect dessert for St. Patrick’s Day. The brownie bowls are filled with pudding. Then topped with gold sprinkles and M&Ms.
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day last year, I made a bunch of rainbow fruit themed food: fruit pizza, yogurt parfait and fruit tray with dip. This year, I wanted to make something to go along with the previous year’s rainbow theme. I decided to make what is found at the end of the rainbow: Pot of Gold Brownie Bowls. I received a bake-a-bowl pan a few years ago and I have used it a bunch of times. You may remember my Chocolate Pudding Brownie Bowls aka pigs in mud puddles for my daughter’s farm themed birthday party. I knew a brownie bowl would be perfect for creating the pot for the gold. Then I used vanilla pudding to fill the bowl and covered it with gold sprinkles. Then I placed yellow M&M’s on top for the gold coins. The Pot of Gold Brownie Bowls came out so cute and they will be the perfect dessert on St. Patrick’s Day….
White Chocolate Popcorn is a delicious, sweet snack. The popcorn is coated in white chocolate mixed with M&M’s and sprinkles.
